Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels have risen and remain high at the Dernford river gauge as a result of persistent rainfall throughout the day on Thursday 14th January. Consequently, flooding remains possible today, Saturday 16th January. We expect flooding to affect Bury Road, Joscelynes, Sawston Road, London Road and Aylesford Way in Stapleford, Kings Mill Lane and Church Street in Great Shelford, and Riddy Close, Church Road and Cambridge Road in Hauxton. Further rainfall is forecast throughout this morning which may result in river levels rising further and remaining high over the weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services. Please avoid contact with flood water and call 999 if in immediate danger.
This message will be updated this afternoon, Saturday 16 January, or as the situation changes.
