Flooding possible. Be prepared.
The water level in the River Dun at Dunbridge remains higher than normal but is falling slowly. In the last 24 hours, 10mm of rain has been recorded at Romsey. This has allowed the river a chance to recover. Residual flooding impacts are expected to reduce this evening and into tomorrow morning (29/01/2025). However, tomorrow afternoon (29/01/2025), further rain is forecast to affect Hampshire. There is a possibility that this may be heavy, bringing up to 35mm of rainfall. Further road flooding at Rectory Road, nearest the railway line at West Dean, is possible if heavy rain affects the River Dun. We continue to monitor the forecast. Our operations staff are ensuring the River Dun is free of reported blockages. At West Dean, we recommend keeping parked cars away from the river. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Wednesday 29/01/2025.
