Flood alert

High river levels overnight may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 19 February 2026 from 00:30, as a lot of rain (nearly 20mm) fell today.
Flooding could affect low-lying land and the road at Rectory Road, nearest the railway line at West Dean. Rain is forecast to continue for the next 4 hours. River levels and flood risk will remain high overnight and into tomorrow.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels .
Consider activating any flood protection products you may have and we recommend moving cars parked close to the river in West Dean.
