Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are still rising slowly at the Buildwas river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding is imminent. We expect flooding to affect property on Buildwas Road, downstream of Buildwas Bridge. Predicted Peak at Buildwas 6.6m to 6.8m overnight tonight 22/01/2021. We expect river levels to remain high until over the weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are erecting temporary flood barriers at the Wharfage at Ironbridge and liaising with emergency services. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated by 9am Saturday, 23/01/2021, or as the situation changes.
