Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High river levels on Wednesday may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from the evening of 22 October 2025 from 19:30 as intense (but uncertain) rainfall is forecast.
Up to 80mm of rain could possibly be recorded, but there is currently low confidence in location. If as much rain falls as predicted, then flooding could be possible. Flooding could affect Marymead Close, and the Simeon Street recreation ground. We will install drop boards in Simeon Street Rec Ground if necessary. For those who are vulnerable to flooding as a result of excess surface water in roads or poor drainage generally, as a precautionary measure, you may wish to install flood protection before the rain begins. River levels and flood risk should reduce by 01:00 PM on Thursday 23/10/2025.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded .
This message will be updated by 2:00PM on 23 October 2025 or as the situation changes.
