Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High river levels on Wednesday may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 18 February 2026 as a lot of rain (30mm) fell over the last 24 hours.
Flooding could affect Simeon Street recreation ground, behind our flood defence wall. With river levels predicted to rise, it is possible that some water will overtop the defence and flood property at West Hill Road and The Strand. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce by 12:00 on 19/02/2026.
We are clearing blockages from debris screens at Marymead Close and operatives will be ready at Simeon Street.
Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded , including Simeon Street rec ground which is acting as flood storage area.
This message will be updated by 7:00PM on 19 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
