Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High river levels on Thursday may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 19 February 2026 , as a lot of rain (32mm) fell on Wednesday.
Flooding is continuing to affect Marymead Close, and the Simeon Street recreation ground. The dropboards are in place, and therefore water will be contained in the recreation ground, so that it does not cause flooding to property at West Hill Road or around The Strand. There may be some further showers overnight. River levels will remain high throughout Thursday.
We are clearing blockages from debris screens at Marymead Close and put in drop boards at Simeon Street recreation ground
Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded . Including Simeon Street rec ground which is acting as flood storage area.
This message will be updated by 6:00PM on 19 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
