Flooding expected. Take action now.
High tides are expected to cause flooding over the next two days.
Flooding is expected on the mornings of Wednesday 4 February and Thursday 5 February.
Areas at risk include Cadgwith and Coverack, Porthallow, the tidal Helford Estuary, Maenporth and Swanpool, St.Mawes, East Portholland, Gorran Haven, Portmellon, Mevagissey, Pentewan and Par. High tides of concern at Falmouth are on Wednesday at 07:01 and Thursday at 07:36, times of high water vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is set to peak at 2.93mAOD on Wednesday morning. Expect tide levels along the coast to be between 0.44 and 0.46 metres above tide table level. Moderate force 5 E to SE winds and offshore wave heights of up to 2m are forecast.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded and activate any flood protection products you may have.
