Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High river levels on Sunday may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible on 22/02/2026, as further rain is forecast on Sunday (up to 18mm). If this rain is realised, flooding could affect roads through East Meon, West Meon including Lynch Lane, Shoe Lane and Church Lane, Exton and Bucks Head Hill at Meonstoke. The river may flood gardens and the Millennium Water Meadows at Wickham. River levels remain high, and may rise on Sunday 22/02/26, if the forecast rainfall is realised. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce along the Upper Meon by Monday 23/02/26. From Monday 23/02/26 to Wednesday 25/02/26, minimal rain is forecast each day (up to 1mm). This will give the river a small chance to recover. We are closely monitoring the situation and will ensure the river is kept free of reported blockages. Consider activating any flood protection products you may have. Particularly properties close to the river, or with pumps for groundwater. This message will be updated by 18:00 on 23/02/2026.
