Flooding expected. Take action now.
The water level in the Monks Brook is high and rising rapidly. In the last 9 hours, heavy and intense rain has fallen with 30mm recorded at Portswood. This is a large amount in a short period of time. Currently, surface water will be impacting roads in Chandlers Ford and at Stoneham Way from Chestnut Way to the M27. The river is flooding the recreational ground at Fleming Park. From 07:30 this morning (27/11/24), the river will flood gardens and may impact properties at Kingfisher Road, Pennine Way, Skipton Road, Magpie Lane and Brookside Way. Rain clears to the east by 08:00 this morning and the river should also peak at this time, remaining very high until 12:00. We continue to monitor the forecast. Our operations staff will keep the river free of reported blockages. Please take appropriate action to protect property. This Flood Warning will be updated by 17:00 on 27/11/24.
