Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Lydbrook river gauge as a result of Storm Darragh. Consequently, flooding(of property is expected to continue. We expect flooding to affect properties and roads in and around Lydbrook. The B4234 at Lower Lydbrook is affected. Predicted peaks:- Lydbrook 5.9m to 6.1m this afternoon 09/12/24, Ross on Wye peaking now. Flood water could be deep and fast flowing, and therefore pose a risk to life.
No further rainfall is forecast. We expect river levels to rise until later today.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services and or Local Authorities.
Please activate any property flood protection products you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers.
