Flooding expected. Take action now.
Water levels in Saltmoor and Northmoor are gradually falling today. The River Tone level at Currymoor pumping station is 7.21m and falling slowly. Athelney spillway is no longer running however standing water may remain. We are currently pumping at Currymoor, Saltmoor and Northmoor pumping stations to remove as much water from the moors as river and drain levels allow.
Today stays largely dry with only patchy rain expected, and Wednesday is mostly dry too with just the odd spot of rain in parts of Somerset. From Thursday afternoon a heavier, organised and windier spell of rain moves in from the West.
Catchments are saturated and rivers very responsive to rainfall. We are monitoring the situation and checking floodbanks and spillways. Remain aware of local water levels and weather conditions. This message will be updated by 1pm on 25/02/26 or as the situation changes.
