Flooding possible. Be prepared.
The water level in the Monktonmead Brook at St Johns Station has now returned near to normal following Sunday's heavy rainfall. Only isolated showers are forecast for Monday (02/02/2026), the river should fall a little further. On Tuesday (03/02/2026), another 30mm of rain is expected to affect Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. If this occurs on the Monktonmead Brook, from 09:00 03/02/2026, flooding could affect depot, tracks, and station buildings at St John's Station. Water on the tracks could be up to 0.5m deep. We are closely monitoring the situation and keeping the Monktonmead Brook clear of blockages. Activate any flood protection products you may have. Move vehicles from low lying land next to the river. A Flood Warning will remain in force for this area while the risk of property flooding continues. This message will be updated by 16:00 03/02/2026.
