Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High river levels on Wednesday may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 18 February 2026 as further rain is forecast this afternoon (up to 25mm).
If as much rain falls as forecast, flooding could affect the railway tracks, upstream of St Johns Station. Flooding of the stations buildings or property is currently not expected. Rainfall is forecast to continue through to Thursday morning, 19/02/2026. Further showers are forecast for Friday, 20/02/2026 and over the weekend, with up to 10mm each day. The river will remain responsive to any further rainfall it receives.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and keeping the Monktonmead Brook clear of blockages.
Consider activating any flood protection products you may have and move vehicles from depots next to the railway line and river.
