The River Uck at Buxted has fallen from its overnight peak. Another 5mm of rain is currently forecast for both this morning (Tuesday 28/12/2021) and Wednesday morning (29/12/2021). However, we do not currently expect river levels to rise by much. Minor flooding affecting fields, rural roads and gardens could still be possible through Buxted, near the White Hart pub and areas around Hempstead Mill on Hempstead Lane, Uckfield. A Flood Alert will remain in force to account for uncertainty in the weather forecast. Riverside properties may like to keep flood protection products in place until Wednesday (29/12/2021), if you have them. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will re-issue this message if our confidence increases of property flooding.
