Flooding expected. Take action now.
The River Uck is high and rising. In the last 48 hours, over half a month's rainfall (50mm) has been recorded at Buxted. Another 10mm of rain is forecast Wednesday evening. From 23:00 16/11/2022 flooding will affect fields, rural roads, gardens and riverside properties through Buxted, near the White Hart pub and areas around Hempstead Mill on Hempstead Lane, Uckfield. Rain is expected to clear by 04:00 Thursday 17/11/2022, leaving Thursday and Friday mostly dry. The river should begin to fall by 09:00 17/11/2022, but will be higher than normal until Thursday evening. River levels could end up similar to the peaks of last week. Riverside properties in Buxted are encouraged to install flood protection products if you have them and take steps to reduce the impact of flooding. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message by 11:00 17/11/2022.
