Bersted on the Aldingbourne Rife

Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

The Aldingbourne Rife is high, but now slowly falling following Saturday's rain. Flooding will continue to be near to properties on Durban Road, Bersted, and affect fields near Shripney Lane, parts of the Tesco car park and caravans at Riverside Caravan Centre on Shripney Road. A weather front will bring a small amount of rain Monday afternoon 04/03/2024, which is expected to cause the Aldingbourne Rife to rise a few centimetres, but flood impacts are not expected to increase significantly. From Tuesday, only scattered showers are forecast and river levels should fall. Flood impacts could remain in Bersted until next weekend (10/03/2024). The Aldingbourne Rife might not return nearer to normal until April. Please plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding. We are running our pumps at Felpham and keeping grilles clear to help reduce the flood risk. We will update this message by 12:00 05/03/2024
