Flooding expected. Take action now.
The Aldingbourne Rife is high, but now slowly falling. Flooding will continue to affect fields near Shripney Lane, parts of the Tesco car park, and caravans at Riverside Caravan Centre on Shripney Road. With hardly any rain forecast on Saturday (09/03/2024), river levels could fall a centimetre. Rain is forecast on Sunday (10/03/2024), but there is uncertainty in locations. Currently, predictions suggest there could be rain in the early hours of Sunday, and perhaps again in the evening. The Aldingbourne Rife could rise by 5cm on Sunday. Flood impacts could remain in Bersted until mid March (15/03/2024). The Aldingbourne Rife might not return nearer to normal until April. Please plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding. We are running our pumps at Felpham and keeping grilles clear to help reduce the flood risk. We will update this message by 11:00 on 10/03/2024.
