Bersted on the Aldingbourne Rife

Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

The Aldingbourne Rife is high, but now slowly falling. Flooding will continue to affect fields near Shripney Lane, parts of the Tesco car park and caravans at Riverside Caravan Centre on Shripney Road. Only a small amount of light drizzle is forecast Monday. River levels should continue to slowly fall. There is uncertainty in the weather forecast for Tuesday. A band of rain forecast from 08:00 12/03/2024, could briefly raise river levels. Flood impacts should not increase significantly in Bersted. No rain is currently forecast Wednesday and Thursday, which should enable river levels to again slowly fall. Flood impacts could remain in Bersted until 15/03/2024. The Aldingbourne Rife might not return nearer to normal until April. Please plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding. We are running our pumps at Felpham and keeping grilles clear to help reduce the flood risk. We will update this message by 11:00 12/03/2024
