Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

The Aldingbourne Rife is high, and rising again. Flooding will continue to affect fields near Shripney Lane, parts of the Tesco car park and caravans at Riverside Caravan Centre on Shripney Road. Persistent rain Tuesday morning is expected to cause the Aldingbourne Rife to rise by about 10cm. Minor flood impacts will continue. From Tuesday afternoon, only isolated showers are forecast until the weekend. River levels should begin to fall by 04:00 13/03/2024 in Bersted, then slowly continue to fall over the next few days. A band of rain Saturday afternoon 16/03/2024 could raise river levels again. Flood impacts could remain in Bersted until 20/03/2024. The Aldingbourne Rife might not return nearer to normal until April. Please plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding. We are running our pumps at Felpham and keeping grilles clear to help reduce the flood risk. We will update this message by 11:00 13/03/2024
