Flooding expected. Take action now.
High river levels are expected to cause flooding over the next two days.
Flooding is expected on 22 February 2026 as a result of high tides and elevated river flow.
Flooding could occur for 1.5 hours either side of each high water as the incoming tide prevents the river from flowing to the sea. Flooding may affect the White Swan Pub, access roads and parking areas around the pub and the car garage. Parts of Riverside Park may also be flooded. Tomorrow, some areas may receive more heavy rain, up to 18mm is possible. The flow in the Itchen has been slowly decreasing, but any further rainfall will cause it to rise again. From Monday 23/02/26 to Wednesday 25/02/26, minimal rain is forecast each day (up to 1mm). This will give the river a chance to recover.
We are checking rivers for blockages and liaising with Southampton City Council on the operation of Woodmill.
Activate any flood protection products you may have , including defences around the White Swan pub.
