Flood alert

The River Adur is high following weeks of rain. Light rain is forecast throughout Friday (06/02/26). Another 3-14mm is forecast on Saturday morning with further showers throughout the afternoon. Minor flooding could affect fields, roads, and possibly gardens of isolated properties between Coolham and Henfield. River levels and flood risk should initially begin to fall Friday night, but more rain is forecast on Saturday morning which will cause the river to rise again, remaining high into early next week. More flood impacts could be possible over the weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation. Don't put yourself or others at risk. Avoid roads that flood, including Slaughter Bridge, Coolham Road. This message will be updated by 8:00PM on 07 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
